Today at 5pm Anonymous did a twitterstorm posting asking people to sign a petition to bring a 5 year old back to her mother.
Aishah Sabra now 5, a British citizen born in St Mary’s hospital in Manchester and resident in the UK until the age of 2 is missing in Egypt after being abducted for a 2nd time in September 2011. Trying to maintain a positive relationship with her estranged father, her mother took her to Egypt in May 2009 where she was abducted by her father, she was returned in January 2010 to her mother who won and still has full custody in the Egyptian courts, although they were forced to stay in Egypt against their will due to a travel ban being imposed on Aishah. Aishah wasn’t returned from an access visit in September of last year and her father claims not to know her whereabouts. The Egyptian authorities are not enforcing the court order which gives her mother full custody and because of this a little girl is suffering. We need the British government to intervene and get this little girl reunited with her mother and then ensure they are brought safely back to the UK.

I just found another petition dated 2010 where this mother was asking for help by asking people to sign a petition to get her daughter back. It only has 793 signatures on it. The newest one has just over 3,500 signatures on it. Where are all the so called child advocates? I can not believe that so many people are looking at this blog and not signing the petition. I have over 1000 hits a day just on this blog alone and we are lucky to get 100 signatures twice a week during the #OpFreeAishah #Twitterstorn.
So if you had any doubt on how long this mother has been fighting, please erase all those doubts. I will not post the old petition link in here due to being able to see the names of the people that signed.
Look what i found on topsy: TOPSY So far #OpFreeAishah has over 54,000 tweets. And only 3,500 signatures? COME ON EVERYONE LETS BRING AISHAH HOME!

To all that have already signed the petition, we thank you. If you have your own blog please do a short story and share this story. If you have an on line paper please post this story in your next issue.
As many have said, if this was you child, would you want help from others to get your child back?
Please pass this petition around. No mother or child should have to go through this.

Our son spent all his primary years at FCPS Steiner stearm and remembers it as the best schooling he had. His high school teachers comment on the breadth of his knowledge and the depth of his analysis & discussion in class. He has made enduring friendships with classmates who were together for 6 years. Mr Allman at the VED justifying the axing of the Steiner stearm the students can get a much better deal than what the’yre getting’ is dismissive of a staff and curriculum that is committed to a joyful, rich and inspiring education. The only disharmony during the last eight years has come from a vocal & media savvy group of three or four mainstearm parents who are unfathomably determined to destroy a curriculum that their children aren’t even affected by.The VED needs to have a process in place to deal with wreckers’ the well organised and persistent minority who can poison the goodwill and harmony of the majority. The true portrait of this school community is a diverse and incredibly active community of parents and kids across both stearms who ignore the wreckers’ and love, cherish & nurture the school.
ShamikI think you’re missing the iniaitl point of this petition and discussion:In 2012, the Olympics are in London. Cricket is our summer sport. We feel that it would be great to showcase cricket (our national summer sport) in a form palatable to non-cricketing nations (T20) as part of the cultural olympiad. In addition, this would have the additional benefit of attracting interest to the games in London and around the World, from nationalities that are historically cricket fans, but not necessarily of athletics and so on.Infrastructure (grounds, tended pitches etc) for cricket in London already exists so the cost overheads are drastically reduced. And in fact, as international sport is excluded from a specific area around Olympic sites during the Olympic period, it also allows UK to host some international standard (even if at ICC-affiliate level) cricket to replace the Tests and ODI’s that will have to be scheduled around the Games themselves.Do not confuse this petition with the chat from Gilchrist, Waugh et al who are lobbying for cricket as a full Olympic sport in the 2020 Games.
